Animals have played many roles in Australia's Wartime history, some have been working animals and some have served as companions giving soldiers affection and relief from the stress of war.
The poppy has long been a symbol of remembrance the Purple Poppy is also known as the animal poppy and commemorates the wartime service deeds and sacrifices of all animals great and small in war.
