Athena Nangala Granites was born 1994 and is from the remote Aboriginal Community Yuendumu 270 Km from Alice Springs Northern Territory.
Athena comes from a long line of Artist and learn't to paint from her Mother and Grandmother, Athena has been painting with Warlukurlangu Artists Corporation an Aboriginal owned and Governed art centre located in Yuendumu since 2010. She paints Jukurrpa from her fathers side-Ngapa Jukurrpa- Water Dreaming and her mothers side Ngalyipi Jukurrpa - Sake Dreaming and Yanjirlpirri Jukurra -Snake Vine Dreaming stories which relate to her land and feature plants and animals that inhibit it.
